Case Study May 2017

Project Description

Installation of a 250 KVA Three Phase and Neutral Canopied Generator utilised to provide emergency power back up for the Brussels newsroom. All Cabling was run in AWA single core cables with additional mechanical protection afforded with ladder rack.

Challenges Faced

We craned the Generator onto the roof of the IPC building next to the European Commission Building in the centre of Brussels. Very complex health and Safety documentation was generated for permission to be granted for the works.
The site is a live newsroom so no down time was acceptable. All cables run in AWAs afforded additional mechanical protection with ladder rack installed by Mercury Power Ltd

Generator Description
A 250 KVA Inmesol fully canopied unit with a Turbo intercooled MTU power plant. The unit was modified with additional load MCCBs for multiple loads and direct load bank termination. The Exhaust system has been modified to suite its location and the difficult surroundings. A Deep sea controller was fitted on the unit and ATS.
This unit had full Volt Free BMS and SNMP interface and its monitored 24 / 7
